At Eliot Community Human Services, we needed an update to several PowerPoints that had served as diversity training. As a member of the Inclusion and Diversity Committee, I took on converting the old learning materials to a Storyline 360 SCORM.
This is a sample from a human services training in progress at Eliot. I used Captivate 9 to create it, and provided the audio. I also made the animations (using Powtoons.com).
This is another sample of human services training, created with Storyline 360.
Gamification of all kinds is popular, and I responded to the challenge from a colleague at work to make him a game based on a space franchise we all know. This template can be adapted for almost any type of training. It was created with Storyline 360, Audacity, Paint, and Youtube.
Challenge: Costumed Historical Junior Interpreters, aged 10-16, required training but many could not attend instructor-led classes while school was in session. When their summer employment started, they needed to hit the ground running. Solution: I used an upside-down classroom model. The children were given a workbook and a CD containing e-learning modules created in Adobe Captivate. When they successfully completed a quiz, they were ready to teach visitors about being a kid during the birth of America. "The kids loved the CD, and got up to speed so quickly! Great job, Andrea." -- Rene Hutton, Manager of Group Interpretation
